NEW YORK

frenchCALIFORNIA proudly presents a stunning penthouse where Italian elegance meets Manhattan’s urban vibrancy. This project is a testament to the expertise of frenchCALIFORNIA in creating spaces that blend artistic flair with sophisticated design.

BOLD COLOR & ITALIAN DESIGN

Located in a high-rise in Manhattan’s Financial District, the penthouse is an interior showcase crafted by Guillaume Coutheillas, founder of frenchCALIFORNIA. This residence is a colorful, design-rich haven that embodies the perfect harmony of European living with East Coast style.

The interiors, thoughtfully curated by frenchCALIFORNIA, are a balanced mix of bold colors, timeless pieces, and artistic touches. The neutral foundation of the space, highlighted by the apartment’s curved windows, is brought to life with vibrant furnishings spanning decades of design. Cappellini’s iconic pieces, such as the ‘Dolmen’ table by Giulio Cappellini and the ‘Embryo’ chair by Marc Newson, are strategically placed to anchor the design.

WELCOMING AESTHETIC

frenchCALIFORNIA’s design approach ensured that the aesthetic, while eclectic, remains warm, welcoming, and distinctly livable—perfect for those with a deep appreciation for art and design.

SOPHISTICATED AMBIENCE

The space features rugs from Kasthall, including an exclusive custom prototype of ‘The Edifice’ rug, a collaboration with Marc Thorpe, and lighting by Foscarini, which illuminates the seating areas with a sophisticated glow.

DISTINCT ITALIAN FLAIR

The design pays homage to New York’s roots through the inclusion of fine art from Salomon Art Gallery in Tribeca and bespoke wall coverings from Brooklyn’s Calico Wallpaper, enhancing the penthouse’s connection to its urban surroundings.

The wide-open archways of the penthouse lead to a terrace with panoramic views of the New York cityscape, yet the design retains a distinct Italian flair, particularly reminiscent of Tuscany. The terrace, furnished with Cappellini’s recent ‘Lido’ outdoor collection, blends new creations with outdoor adaptations of classics, such as the ‘Litos’ sofa by Sebastian Herkner and Jasper Morrison’s ‘Thinking Man’s Chair.’

EXCEPTIONAL LIVING SPACE

Whether lounging on the terrace or enjoying the meticulously curated interiors, Residenza Cappellini stands as a perfect example of how frenchCALIFORNIA brings together beautifully crafted furniture and inspired design to create a truly exceptional living space.
