Wallpaper* Handmade x Jaguar

NEW YORK

A unique partnership with Wallpaper* Handmade and Jaguar created a distinct look at the International Contemporary Furniture Fair. This pop up event in the Meatpacking District married fashion, furniture, and architecture in a new and exciting way. All of the more than 40 pieces were hand selected and curated by the team at Wallpaper* to highlight the blending of art and cars.

MUSEUM-INSPIRED

Wallpaper* included collaborations between British car manufacturer Jaguar and designers Fredrikson Stallard, Haas Brothers, Todd Bracher, Moritz Waldemeyer and Mathieu Gustaffson, architects Neri & Hu and Vicenzo De Cortiis and marble specialist Salvatori. Each one brought their own unique view and relationship with Jaguar to their art.

The space was meant to mimic a contemporary art museum with numerous works in different rooms. Wallpaper* commissioned a new work inspired by Jaguar design from Snarkitecture, a New York firm. A cutaway version of the F-Type coupe was also on show, making it easy for viewers to see the beautiful work that goes into building one of the only cars featured at the Museum of Modern Art.

SPECIALLY COMMISSIONED DESIGNS

The unique celebration of creative collaboration, contemporary craft and cutting-edge materials included over 40 specially commissioned designs from this year’s show with a few stand-out pieces from past shows thrown in for good measure. Todd Bracher designed a beautiful cork jacket while Paul Loebach and Logitech produced the ‘Tablet Book’ while Zimmerman collaborated with Michael Reynolds on glass works.
